CIE Pathway to Net Zero
CIE Pathway to Net Zero

As part of CIE’s mission statement, ‘to always be the first and only choice for all designers, architects and developers seeking a reputable kitchen provider’, CIE has a published pathway to Net Zero that you can download below. Sustainability is very high on everyone’s agenda, rightly so and we have worked in partnership with Positive Planet to establish our pathway. We are now having a positive impact on the environment through our ongoing changes.

We have taken a multi-pronged approach, incorporating various strategies and initiatives aimed at reducing our carbon footprint.

This is in addition to our Sustainable Procurement strategy where we are committed to sourcing materials and products from sustainable sources, where we have already implemented a comprehensive procurement policy that prioritizes environmentally friendly and FSC certified suppliers.

At CIE, we are committed to leading the charge towards a sustainable future through our Net Zero initiative. Our goal is to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050.

ISO 9001
ISO 9001

ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It is the most popular standard in the ISO 9000 series and the only standard in the series to which organizations can certify.

ISO 9001 was first published in 1987 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an international agency composed of the national standards bodies of more than 160 countries. The current version of ISO 9001 was released in September 2015.

ISO 14001
ISO 14001

ISO14001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS). It provides a framework that an organization can follow, rather than establishing environmental performance requirements.

Part of the ISO 14000 family of standards on environmental management, ISO 14001 is a voluntary standard that organizations can certify to. Integrating it with other management systems standards, most commonly ISO 9001, can further assist in accomplishing organizational goals.

The International Organization of Standardization (ISO) defines an environmental management system as “part of the management system used to manage environmental aspects, fulfil compliance obligations, and address risks and opportunities.” The framework in the ISO 14001 standard can be used within a plan-do-check-act (PDCA) approach to continuous improvement.

ISO 45001
ISO 45001

ISO 45001:2018 specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, and gives guidance for its use, to enable organizations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its OH&S performance.

CHAS
CHAS

The CHAS health and safety assessment scheme is a pre-approval scheme to allow contractors to show potential clients that they meet the required health and safety standards.

The main purpose of CHAS is to avoid repeated applications by suppliers and contractors to become approved as local authority suppliers and to improve health and safety in small to medium sized businesses. Whilst the CHAS assessment scheme is a local authority and government backed scheme, it can be used by any organisation looking to short list suppliers and contractors and can save time and money for all parties.

PEFC
PEFC

The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management through independent third-party certification.

PEFC works throughout the entire forest supply chain to promote good practice in the forest and to ensure that timber and non-timber forest products are produced with respect for the highest ecological, social and ethical standards. Thanks to its eco-label, customers and consumers are able to identify products from sustainably managed forests.

PEFC is an umbrella organization. It works by endorsing national forest certification systems developed through multi-stakeholder processes and tailored to local priorities and conditions.

FSC®
FSC®

FSC® runs a global forest certification system with two key components:

  • Forest Management
  • Chain of Custody

FSC® also licenses retailers and other end users to promote FSC® labelled products, without holding FSC® certification.

This system allows consumers to identify, purchase and use wood, paper and other forest products produced from well-managed forests and/or recycled materials.

FSC’s® “tick tree” logo is used to indicate that products are certified under the FSC® system. When you see the FSC® logo on a label, you can buy forest products with confidence that you are helping to ensure our forests are alive for generations to come.
